The City of New Rochelle was awarded the 2026 Ivory Prize for Policy & Regulatory Innovation, recognizing its zoning and permitting reforms, including an innovative 90-day approval model that helped deliver more than 4,500 new homes in six years while stabilizing rents and expanding affordability.
The recognition underscores the power of public-private partnership to unlock housing, strengthen communities, and reimagine downtowns for the future.
