Scott Rechler in Conversation with Ropes & Gray: Why NYC Continues to Attract Talent, Capital and Ideas

RXR Chairman and CEO, Scott Rechler, spoke with Ropes & Gray senior real estate partner Dan Stanco about why New York City continues to attract talent, capital and ideas. Marking the 25th anniversary of Ropes & Gray’s New York office, the conversation explores the importance of the physical workplace in building culture and mentorship, how professional services firms are rethinking office space, and what makes New York’s broader business ecosystem unique. Rechler also discussed the city’s long-term growth and the role of the office in its future, including RXR’s 1285 Avenue of the Americas, where Ropes & Gray plans to relocate its New York office in 2028.

“For the current young generation of professionals, it’s become clear that being together is mission-critical, said Scott Rechler. “You can get things done, but you can’t ideate, build culture, create mentorship, or feel part of a team if you’re not in the office.”
