RXR, alongside its partners Apollo and UAG, recognized a major construction milestone at 5 Times Square, marking continued progress on the transformation of the former office building into a new residential community in the heard of Midtown Manhattan.
The project will convert approximately 1 million square feet of office space into more than 1,000 residential units, including approximately 300 affordable homes. The milestone represents an important step forward for one of New York City’s largest office-to-residential conversations, bringing much-needed housing supply to Manhattan while reimagining an existing commercial asset for the neighborhood’s next chapter.
