“The city’s doing better than any of us anticipated,” said Rechler. “The view that people are going to be fleeing the city hasn’t really transpired, as people had said. More apartments are being sold, more office leases are being signed, more people from graduating colleges want to come live and work in New York, including the best and brightest from around the country and the world—all positive things.”
